Cefn Parc is ideally located for access to the market towns of Brecon, Hay-on-Wye, and Abergavenny – all are within a 30 minute drive. There's fantastic walking, cycling and fishing country in the Brecon Beacons National Park right on the doorstep and you won't even need the car for some amazing local walks.
Cefn Parc is also a great base if you're coming for the many events that take place year-round in the Brecon Beacons, such as the Hay Festival, Brecon Jazz, Abergavenny Food Festival or the Abergavenny Festival of Cycling. There are other local events such as the Crickhowell Art Trail and Open Studios, the Llandovery Sheep Festival, plus local shoots and more!
Cycle from the start of the Taff Trail in Cardiff Bay to your soft bed at the end of the trail in Brecon, here at Cefn Parc. Alternatively, cycle up and over the Gospel Pass to the Augustinian Llanthony priory; with a climb of 1591 metres this cycle isn't for the faint hearted! Bikes can be hired from Bikes And Hikes in Brecon and delivered to the house.
The River Usk is just half a mile away from Cefn Parc and it offers some of the best and most peaceful salmon and trout fishing you could ever hope to find. The Wye and Usk Foundation offers permit for the Fenni Fach beat, a one-and-a-half mile stretch of river between Cefn Parc and Brecon. For more information check out the Wye and Usk Foundation.
For those who love to pair their sense of outdoor adventure with a healthy dollop of discovery, walk in the Black Mountains and unearth the many local Geo Caches
There are a number of good pubs in the area, our favourite is the Three Horseshoes at Groesfford 01874 665672. Or there is the Griffin at felin fach 01874 620111. It is necessary to book at both.
